OBIT - James Freeman White -- James Freeman White was born near Elk Creek,
Mo., on July 28, 1881, The son of James and Louisa White. He departed this
life in the Texas County hospital on Dec. 17 1964, at the age of 83 years, 4
months and 19 days. In 1900 he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Stephens and to this union 16 children were born. Two children died in infancy, and his loving companion preceded him in death in 1934. Jim was practically a lifelong resident of Texas County, having been a farmer here for many years. During the past several months his health had been failing and since Monday had been confined to the hospital. He was a friendly person always willing to help others in time of need and he will be sadly missed. He leaves to mourn his passing: six daughters, Minnie Butts, Mtn. Grove; Dadie Morgan, Clara Anderson, Temperance, Mich; Louise Inman, Vally Park, Mo.; Lydia Skaggs, Oklahoma; Hazel Young, California. Eight sons: Charley, Eureka, Mo.; Hayden, Elk Creek; Andy, Mtn. Grove; Fred, Frank, John, Herschel and David, all of Vally Park. Forty-nine grandchildren. 52 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nagle Christian Church with Rev. Earl Sigler officiating. Burial was in Nagle Cemetery under

OBIT. - MRS. JAMES WHITE DIES --- Was on Old-Time Resident of the Sargent
Community --- Mary Stephens was born Nov. 7, 1878, and passed away in a
Springfield hospital Sunday, Sept. 16, 1934, at the age of 56 years 19 months
and 9 days. She had been ill for several months and was taken to Springfield Saturday for an appendicites operation, but her condition was so serious she never recovered from its effect and died a few hours later. She was married to James F. White, May 20, 1900.

To this union 14 children were born, 12 of whom survive her, and all but one
were present at the time of her death. The surviving children are eight sons, Charles, Hayden, Andy, Frank, Fred, Freeman, Herschel, and David: six
daughters, Mrs. Minnie Hubbell, Mrs. Dade Fault, Mrs. Lizzie Hubbell, Mrs. Lydia Skaggs, Miss Hazel White and Mrs. Arnold Anderson. She is also survived by her husband, mother, four sisters and three brothers. She was a member of the Methodist church, the funeral services being conducted Monday by the Rev. J. J. Carty at Moore's Chapel near Willow Springs, under the direction of the Elliot Funeral Home.
