Bessie Irene White of Valley Park, Missouri passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2000 at the age of 82 years.

Mrs. White was born on February 17, 1918 in Howell County, Missouri to the late George and Pearl (Gentry) Means.

On January 2, 1941 she was united in marriage to Frank White.

The vast majority of Bessie's adult life revolved around caring for her family, her extended family, and her home. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, which included fishing and just being with her family. Those who knew her best describe Bessie as a very loving and big-hearted person. As a young girl, she placed her trust in Christ and was baptized as a follower of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Frank White of Valley Park; one son, Charlie Devon White of Valley Park;three brothers, Donald Means and wife, Lois of High Ridge,Missouri, Thomas Means and wife, Avinail of the state of Idaho, and Junior Means and wife, Shirley of Fenton, Missouri; three sisters, Alta Bowen of Cabool, Missouri, June Hastings of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Donna Wake of the state of Missouri; two
grandchildren, Lowell Dean Prewitt, Jr. and Evelyn Eichschlag; one brother-in-law, Gene Glenn; eight great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews,other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death
by her daughter, Mary Louise Weber; one brother, Dennis Means; four sisters, Goldie Glenn, Zelphia New, Ruby Watts, and Virginia German; and one great-great-grandson,Korbin Stoutt.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2000 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.

Interment was in the Cave Springs Cemetery.
