Notes for Frances PROCTOR
ENGLISH IMMIGRANT ANCESTOR

—————————————

(1) THE YARBROUGH FAMILY, comp. by Hazel Y. Beatrous, pg. 18-38 FHL# 1697466-4.
(2) YARBROUGH, a Branch Through Ambrose the Emigrant, Robert Price Yarbrough, comp., pg. 2, FHL# 929.273, Y2y gives a good acct. of Richard and family. Some confusion exists as to whether or not she was the wife of the immigrant; IGI shows a son, Thomas, born in 1674, Lincolnshire, England. This is much too late to be her child.

Notes for Richard (Spouse 1)
ENGLISH IMMIGRANT ANCESTOR

—————————————

(1) THE YARBROUGH FAMILY, comp. by Hazel Y. Beatrous, pg. 18-38 FHL# 1697466-4. (2) YARBROUGH, a Branch Through Ambrose the Emigrant, Robert Price Yarbrough, comp., pg. 2, FHL# 929.273, Y2y gives a good acct. of Richard and family. (3) Some research evidence suggests that Richard was the son of Sir Nicholas Yarburgh of Snaith Hall, Yorkshire, and that his mother was Fayth, dau. of John Downey, son and heir of Sir Thomas Downey of Seazy Hall, Yorkshire. However, the Yorkshire Richard was chr. 1 Oct 1640 and is obviously from the wrong generation. Others claim the family was from Lincolnshire. (6) Marriage; St. Mary Stainings, London, London, England, FHL# 178126-178127 gives his name as Richard Yerburg. (7) Jul 2003: IGI

“People do not die for us immediately, but remain bathed in a sort of aura of life which bears no relation to true immortality but through which they continue to occupy our thoughts in the same way as when they were alive. It is as though they were traveling abroad.”
― Marcel Proust
