(2) YARBROUGH, a Branch Through Ambrose the Emigrant, Robert Price Yarbrough, comp., pg. 2, FHL# 929.273, Y2y gives a good acct. of Richard and family. (3) Some research evidence suggests that Richard was the son of Sir Nicholas Yarburgh of Snaith Hall, Yorkshire, and that his mother was Fayth, dau. of John Downey, son and heir of Sir Thomas Downey of Seazy Hall, Yorkshire. However, the Yorkshire Richard was chr. 1 Oct 1640 and is obviously from the wrong generation. Others claim the family was from Lincolnshire. (4) William and Mary Quarterly, Series One, 5:233-240; 6:62-62; 27:24. (5) Virginia Magazine of History, 6:340; 24:289; 25:66; 31:44; 32:75.
