From Rhomer Johnson:

I also have this story:  From Jan Hoy. This is a story told by one ancestor (no documentation).  Billie Johnson, b about 1775 had a Brother Matt, and a Sister Rebecca who were captured by the Cherokee Indians. Their father (Jacob or Joseph Johnson had gone to the  mill and the Indians came while he was gone.

They killed the mother and some of the children. The Indians raised Matt and Rebecca.  Later Billie Johnson took them from the Indians and brought them to Kentucky.

This does not verify anything, but based on this information I started my new tree called Johnson Cox and have connected to a large amount of DNA matches.  These Johnsons come from Scotland to the Isle of Wright, Virginia, etc.667
