Notes for Joseph (Spouse 1)
Joseph was one of eleven children of John & Hannah [Brunsden] Buckingham.
On 15 Sep 1749 at the Center Monthly Meeting in Hockessin, New Castle County, Delaware Joseph married Deborah Dixson, daughter of Thomas Dixson.
The couple had did not have any known children before Deborah died, [date unknown].
On 6 Apr 1754 the Kennett Monthly Meeting granted Joseph a Certificate for a move to the Cane Creek MM. On 6 Aug1754 he was received at Cane Creek MM.
Shortly after moving to NC Joseph married a 2nd time. On 2 Nov 1754 Joseph then married Margery Piggott [1735-1828] per the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting in Orange County, NC.
Joseph acquired various parcels of land in Orange County, NC.
No children are known from this marriage.
In Joseph's will written 21 Feb 1793 he names: Heirs Wife Margery; Brother James Buckingham's Son Joshua Buckingham; Brother William Buckingham's Son William; Brother inlaws Jeremiah Piggott's Son Jeremiah Piggott; Brother inlaw's Jeremiah Piggots Daughter, Rachel; Barbara Carter (no relationship shown for Barbara).
Church records show Joseph died on 17 Oct 1795.

Thomas Lindley was born on August 7, 1740, in London Grove, Pennsylvania. He married Sarah Evans and they had 10 sons and three daughters together between 1759 and 1782. He then married Marjoria Piggott in 1798. He died on February 28, 1833, in Snow Camp, North Carolina, at the impressive age of 92. (Ancestry.com)
