GWENDOLYN D. PETERSON

Gwendolyn D. Peterson, 91, of Sycamore, Ill., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center in DeKalb.

Born Sept. 29, 1913, in Granville, she was the daughter of Dr. John and Adele (Stringfellow) Aimone. She married Leroy Peterson.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Sycamore. She was a graduate of Sycamore High School and was formerly employed in the DeKalb County Treasurer's Office.

Gwendolyn is survived by her loving husband, Leroy; two sons, John (Meredith) Caldwell of Genoa and Bruce Peterson of New York, N.Y.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ilean Lupinski of New Port Richey, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond Aimone.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Salem Lutheran Church of Sycamore, with the Rev. Garry Briesacher officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The family will greet everyone after the service at the Salem Lutheran Church fellowship hall, where a lunch will be served.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Salem Lutheran Church or DeKalb County Hospice, in care of Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.
