HUSBAND SYCAMORE GIRL DIED FROM INFLUENZA

Successful Physician Dies Following Hard Work During Epidemic Leaving Widow and Three Small Children.

A sketch of the life of Dr. John Aimone, whose wife was Miss Della Stringfellow, daughter of Ben Stringfellow of a family of early residents of Sycamore, is contained in the Granville Echo.

Dr. Aimone was one of the first victims of the prevalent influenza and died at Elmo, Ill., on Oct. 4, after assiduous attention to his many patients during the epidemic.

The Echo says:
John Aimone was born in Italy, June 23,1SS1 and came with his parents to the United States as an infant. He graduated from the College of Physicians in 1907 and practiced in Chicago till July, 1905, when he located in Granville. On Sept. 8, the same year, he married Miss Della Stringfellow of Chicago. Three children have been born to them: Raymond, nine years old; Dean, seven years old, and Gwendolyn, five years old. A peculiar coincidence is the fact that all the family took sick on the baby's birthday and the doctor was buried on Raymond's birthday while the next day was Mrs. Aimone's birthday. Plans bad been made for a real good time on the baby's anniversary and her papa had joked her very much on the things she would have and do on that day. The funeral of her papa had not been counted on.

Granville has suffered in the passing of Dr. Aimone a real loss. He had a large practice in the county and was a good booster in business. He owned several business buildings and was a director in the Granville State bank. He was a good financier and had accumulated considerable property in the few years he had been a resident of Putnam county.

I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands.”
