Notes for Elizabeth SHEELY
She was born to Elizabeth Mary Sheely, with whom he had 11 children. They moved to and lived in Missouri. When he died on Christmas 1877, their youngest was a baby. His brother came and took his body back to Kentucky for burial, but the family (Elizabeth and the children) stayed in Missouri. Elizabeth's maiden name was Sheely as well, so I'm guessing they were related, but I don't know how. Her mother was Nancy. I don't have a record of her father.622

“I am bound to them though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history. I cherish their lives.
I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands.”
