From August 19, 1842 Lexington Intelligencer semi-weekly newspaper in Kane County, Illinois.

John L. Sheeley offered a $150 reward for the return of his "Red Morocco Pocket Book, containing $1280 in Kentucky Bank Paper." Sheeley had lost the pocket back somewhere between his residence, "4 miles from Lexington on the Russell's road," and Lexington, or in the city itself. In addition to the bank notes, the material includes several promissory notes: one on Wm. Drake dated April 1831, another on Valentine Morgan dated June 6, 1835; one on WF. Sheeley payable to Mary Sheeley and dated March 24, 1824; and several smaller notes. "The public are cautioned against trading for any of these Notes.
