Nannie's father , John Gay lived in Clark County,Kentucky then removed to Boone/Callaway Counties in Missouri. He married first Lucinda Pendleton, December 17, 1811, in Bourbon, Clark County, Kentucky. To this marriage they had six children. Lucinda died sometime in 1830. Lucinda's burial location is in Clark County, Kentucky, but at this time not located. On August 4, 1830, John married his second wife Rebecca Bratton (Nannie's mother). They had seven children. John and Rebecca removed to Missouri with their twelve surviving children.
