(1) Named in her husband's will, dated Jan 19, 1781 and probated in Caroline Co. Va on 8 Feb 1781. (2) She was listed as a tax payer in Caroline Co., VA in 1782 and 1787; pg. 64, Virginia Taxpayers. (3) She appears to have been very young when she md. as she outlived her husband by at least 40 years; a notice in a Richmond VA newspaper in 1821 shows that she permitted the distribution of her dower to his children according to the terms of her husband's will of 1781 in 1818. He owned the plantations of White Chimneys, Needlewood, and Thornhill in southern Caroline Co., VA. (Only the family burial plot at Thornhill still exists of these properties, the rest of the structures having fallen into ruin.)
