On the 1880 census she was a resident of the Louise Home and suffered from gout.
She was the daughter of Colonel John Stuart and Elizabeth Buckner Stuart (born 1789). whose places of burial are unknown as of August 10, 2023.
On September 8, 1841 as Harriette Stuart, she married Edmund Pendleton Barbour at Orange County, Virginia. He was born about 1806 in Virginia and died in 1851.
They were the parents of three children.
