Son of Wayne and Ruth Fuller Briggs.
A Cassadaga Valley Central School graduate, Mr. Briggs was the winner of a contest to name the school's sports teams, submitting the Cassadaga Valley Cougars as his entry.
He was employed as a mechanical engineer for Greater Buffalo Press of Buffalo. He preciously owned and operated a gas station in Fredonia.
An avid harness racing fan, at one time Mr. Briggs owned race horses.
He will be sorrowfully missed by his loving dog Rudy.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife Cynthia Battaglis Briggs; three daughters, Stacy Rominger of Hamburg, Vicki Crandall of Connecticut and LeeAnn Lazarony of Cassadaga; two sons Rand Briggs of Boca Raton, FL., and Scott Briggs of Cassadaga; five sisters, Norma Shongo, Barbara Luczowiak, Linda Hartman, Debbie Harmon and Cindy Baldridge and one brother Robert Briggs. Ten Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Richard and Ronnie Briggs and a sister Ellen Farley.
