OBIT - MRS. SARAH MINERVA MOAD -- Sarah Minerva White, daughter of Rev. and
Mrs. James White, was born Feb. 22, 1872 near Cabool, Mo. and departed this
life May 22, 1944 in the Hardtner Hospital, aged 72 years and three months.
The early part of her life was spent in Missouri. Her father, being a minister of the gospel, she grew up in a Christian home and united with the Christian church early in life. Dec. 1, 1889 she was united in marriage to William C. Moad at Cabool, Mo. and to this union four children were born, two sons, Willis and Ray Moad and two daughters, Mrs. M. H. (Minnie) Ward and Mrs. Sam (Marian) Shepler. In the year 1891 the family moved from Missouri to newr Kiowa and lived there until they moved to Sun City, Kansas in 1905. Her father, mother, two sisters, one brother, and one grandson preceded her in death. Those left to mourn her passing are: Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Shepler, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Moad, and Willis Moad, one sister, Mrs. Lisa Brewer of Grogan, Mo., one brother, Mr. James White of St. Louis, Mo., eight grandchildren and a niece, Mrs. Ora (Myrtle) Adams, who made her home with the Moads for several years. Also several nieces, nephews and
relatives and friends. She was a loyal neighbor and citizen and a devoted
mother. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
