(3) From Jeff Williams:
I have a copy of the marriage registration Will of Spencer White signed 28 July 1879. Probate began 26 January 1885 and will proven 25 June 1885.
His wife and several children were not named in his will - though he spoke of his "wife & other heirs." He did mention two of his sons by name - John & Washington. He named two of his daughters - Mrs. Warren & Mrs. Tate and spoke of three (unnamed) children of deceased son Spencer.
(4) Ltr. dtd 8 Apr 1996 from Jack Hockett: He has death date about Jan 1885. Last will and testament written 28 Jul 1879 and proved in WCV court 26 Jan 1885.
The LWT of Spencer White...(WCV WB__:88-89)...to sons John & Washington my home place.. I desire that my son John & family shall move to my house...render me any assistance that myself or wife may require...to my son Spencer('s) three children one hundred & fifty dollars...At my death I give my house hold & kitchen furniture to my daughter's Tampa Waren wife of William Warren & Ellen Tate wife of Drury Tate to be equally divided...son, Washington...exr./w/Wm. Y. C. White; E. H. Lee;/s/Spencer (his mark) White. [Note: William Young Conn
White was a s/o Col. James White and no relation to the Whites of Spencer White.)

Supplement to SW VA tax Assessments, 1815...Mary B. Ketley, p. 30: "Moses White's Estate, now in possession of Spencer White, one farm in the Rich Valley, joining Epperson and Menefee, 131 acres, having thereon some old log
'cabbins' and one log barn, valued at $500."

Not sure if this pertains to this Spencer, but Jack had this note: The Militia of WCV...Gerald H. Clark., pp. 60-1, "Index of Militia Officers 1777-1835":"White, Spencer - Earlier recommendation not seen, but because he refused to accept, replaced as Lieut., 70th Reg., by Lewis Manefee, 18 May 1819."

Fulton & James Bradley 1 Feb 1825; and 140.5 ac. on the Waters of the North Fork of Holston River, both sides of Smith's Mill Creek...cor. to land on which George Smith lived...to McCulloch 1 Sep 1821;

A d/o Moses White, dec.)...to John Apperson by deed of 13 Oct 1815...deed of George Fenley & wife to Moses White 20 Jan 1795...rec. 3 Mar 1836 [abstr. of Mr. Tom Colley, researcher, Hanceville, AL, referred herafter as TC. Mr. Colley has contributed significantly to this manuscript, most particularly as regards connections to the Woodward, Pippin, and other families.).
