James Hannah Keene born March 3, 1845, the son of Alfred Keene and Elizabeth Hannah Keene. He married Laura Alice Shock December 28, 1869. James Hannah Keene was a coal miner/farmer. He and Laura Alice Shock Keene are buried at the Rocky Fork Cemetery.

Laura Alice Shock was a homemaker & married James Hannah Keene on December 28, 1869. They had five children: Alfred, died in infancy, Cynthia, Estelle,Edmond, and Clara.
From the local newspaper:
" Mrs. Keene was the youngest & last of a family of 13 children. She was the daughter of a pioneer Boone countian, David Hurst Shock, who came to Boone county in 1818 and filed a claim to land north of town, which is still held as the Shock estate. The original deed, as issued to Mr. Shock, was signed by President John Quincy Adams in 1826.
Mr. Shock married Cynthia Gibson, and 13 children were born to them. The eldest was the late Dr. John M. Shock of Woodlandville, and the youngest and last was the late Mrs. Laura Alice Keene.
Laura Alice Shock-Keene died at the home of her daughter, Cynthia Elizabeth Keene Talbert."

On February 22, 1929, Aunt Alice Keene passed to her reward after a lingering illness. She was the last of the children of David H. and Cynthia Shock,and was born on the old homestead north of Columbia, where the 1926 reunion was held, and has always taken an important part in all gatherings. At three meetings she has been the oldest lady present, but at the Centralia meeting of 1927 that honor was given to Aunt Nancy Nichols of Hannibal.
Her husband, James Hanna Keene, died December 22, 1908 and she is survived by three children, Mrs. J. H. Talbert, Mrs. J. H. Jenkins and Ed Keene, besides a number of great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Clara, died in 1906.
