Notes for Loyd Earl STOCKDELL
When my Dad retired from Caterpillar around 1969 (he had been a farmer until around 1950), he decided to work on genealogy. I would go to libraries with him when my children were in school. He passed away in 1980 and I kept all his records. We started having the reunions in 1981 so have pictures & records from all the reunions. We have been in touch with descendants of Milton’s sons Simeon (Rachel is mother), Colby, Thomas & Fanny (mother is Permilia). I have military records for Braxton & Simeon and Milton Parker & William Riley (Mother is Permilia).89
Notes for Lela Alberta (Spouse 1)
Daughter of Albert and India (Dean) Forrest. Married Earl Stockdell.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Stockdell Are Held Wednesday

Mrs. Lela A. Stockdell, 50, wife of Earl Stockdell, passed away unexpectedly in her home Sunday evening. Mrs. Stockdell had been in failing health for several months, but seemingly felt better lately and had attended church services Sunday morning.

She was born in Marshall county February 11, 1906, the daughter of Albert and Inda Dean Forrest and was united in marriage to Earl Stockdell February 10, 1925 in Hennepin, Ill.

For many years the Stockdells resided on a farm near Princeville moving to Princeville about five years ago. She was a member of the Princeville Presbyterian church.

Surviving are her husband; three sons Phillip of Peoria, Wynne of Joliet and Verl Stockdell of the U. S. Air Force stationed in Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Gehrig of Wyoming and Miss Alice Stockdell at home; three grandchildren; and one brother Walter Forrest of Henry.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Bouton Memorial home with Rev. Ralph Walters of the Princeville Presbyterian church in charge. Mrs. Fanchon Hall, the organist, also sang "In the Garden' and the "Old Rugged Cross".

Mrs. Stockdell was laid to rest in the Henry cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph and Lewis Gehrig, Duane and Jesse Camp, Erving Martin and Charles Tippett.

“I am bound to them though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history. I cherish their lives.
I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands.”
