Prudence Victoria Tuck was born in Halifax County, Virginia on 19 January 1811. On 6 January 1829, she married her cousin Eli Boyd Tuck, who was the son of Bennett Tuck and Susannah Pinson. Eli had moved to Georgia with his parents before 1822. Eli and Prudence raised their 9 children in Bucks Branch, Clarke County, Georgia by 1850; and after 1850 they moved to Nicholson, Jackson County, Georgia. They had four more children after 1850 (total of 13 children).
