JOHN TUCK, b. ca. 1763; d. 6 July 1822; m. 4 November 1791, EDEY STANLEY, (b. 1776-Cen. of 1840) daughter of John and Silldra Stanley. Census of 1820 shows 2 sons and 5 daughters. He and his wife in 1802 witnessed the will of thomas Lacy; soldier of American Revolution as private, Virginia troops, under Captains Edmond King, Parham Booker, and William Clark, and Col. Nathaniel Cox; in Battle of Guilford Court House; widow in 1850 was allowed a pension.

As they reformed their line, William Washington's Light Dragoons raced by to rescue raw troops of the Fifth Maryland who had buckled under a furious assault of British Grenadiers and Guards."
