It is with a heavy heart that I write, we have lost another beloved member of our family, Larry Stephens passed away this past Thursday. He was the Grandson of Myrtle (Root) & Preston (Fat) Akers.. Please keep his family in your prayers. Larry I will so miss your wonderful smile!! Here is his Obituary;
"Larry Stephens, age 72, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born March 5, 1942, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Lawrence D. and Geraldine (Akers) Stephens. On October 29, 1963, in Roeland Park, Kansas, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Patricia (Sanford) Stephens. Larry was a believer of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the Sierra Club. Some of his favorite hobbies included bird watching and counting for Cornell, fishing and traveling. In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by his daughters, Rachel Terrell and husband Patrick and Laura Susan Stephens; his mother, Geraldine Akers Stephens and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Stephens and his sister, Patricia.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3rd, in the Versailles Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles."365
