Preston S. Akers

Preston S. Akers, 68, El Dorado Springs, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, died yesterdays at the Clinton, Mo., Hospital. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas and had lived in Kansas City, Kansas, most of his life before moving to El Dorado Springs three years ago. He was a retired truck driver. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Akers of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Stephens, 2410 S. 55th , Kansas City, Kansas, and Mrs. Pauline McKenzie, 737 Miami, Kansas City, Kansas; two sons Preston Akers, Jr., 1805 Coy, Kansas City, Kansas, and Edward Akers, rural Fair Play, Mo.; a brother, Homer Akers, Kansas City, Kansas; a sister, Mrs Ethel Garity, 1328 Webster, Kansas City, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Isbell-Carothers Chapel, El Dorado Springs; burial in El Dorado Springs Cemetery.

Preston S. Akers

El Dorado Springs – Funeral services for Preston S. Akers, 68, El Dorado Springs, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Isbell-Carothers Chapel with the Elder H. S. Moon officiating Burial will be in the city Cemetery.

Mr. Akers died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday in a Clinton Hospital after a short illness.

He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; two daughters, Mrs. Geraldien Stephens and Mrs. Pauline McKinsey, bot of Kansas City, Kan.; two sons, Preston, Jr. Kansas City, Kan., and Edward, Fair Play; a brother, Homer, Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Garripy, Kansas City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
