Adcocks supposedly raised James Albert Johnson

I have had a continuing question if Sarah remarried in 1907 in Missouri, possibly Speedwell, Saint Clair Co., to a John Street who was born in 1862. Her headstone says “Sara E. Adcock”. If she were to have then there is a 1930 census which shows her mother living with them, but this is doubtful.

HURT: English (chiefly Nottinghamshire): variant of Hart. German: topographic name from Middle High German hurt ‘hurdle’, ‘woven fence’. Dutch: nickname, presumably for a pugnacious or aggressive person, from Middle Dutch hort, hurt ‘strike’, ‘blow’, ‘attack’. Source: Dictionary of American Family Names Oxford University Press

“I am bound to them though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history. I cherish their lives.
I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands.”
