Catherine Keller was born in Tennessee unto Mary Keller, daughter of Jacob Keller. Mary Keller married William Brakebill October 4, 1819, in Tennessee.831

Catherine's kinship to the Keller family is established by a Blount County, Tennessee, deed —

"We have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to Philmore Green and his heirs forever for the consideration of nine dollars and twenty-five cents to us paid our individual interest in a tract of land lying in Blount County on Little River containing by estimation one hundred and ninety-seven acres 1 road and 26 parcels being the land that descended to us by and through Jacob Keller, deceased, and th,e same which Jacob Keller's heirs sold to Philmore Green as appears from deed dated 17 October 1838 our individual in the same being about one and one-fourth o f an acre be the
same more or less.

To have and to hold the same to the said Philmore Green, his heirs, and assigns forever. W e do covenant with the said Philmore Green that we are lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it, and that the same is unencumbered. We do further covenant and bind ourselves, our heirs, and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to our said interest in said land and every part thereof to the said Philmore Green, his heirs, and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever this 16th day of May 1840.
