Joseph Goglio, County Resident Since1898, Dies

Joseph Goglio, 81, resident of Fremont county since 1898, died at 12:30 Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Valenzano, 1120 West Third street, Florence, after an extended illness.

Mr. Goglio resided in Rockvale for 42 years, then moved to Florence four years ago to make his home with his daughter. An active lodge member, he was charter member and a prominent figure in organizing several eastern Fremont county lodges, including Umberto Primo lodge, Garabaldi lodge and Foresters of America. He was also a sponsor of Regina Margherita.

Born in Turin, Italy on March 13, 1863, he came to the United States in 1898, going directly to Rockvale. His wife died there in 1927.

Surviving are 10 children, Mario and Ernest of Los Angeles, Frank of Rock Springs, Wyo., Pete of Richmond, Calif., Lieutenant Joseph Jr. of Camp Wheeler, Ga., Mrs. Valenzano and Mrs. Erma McKee of Florence, Mrs. Catherine Wifler of Alexandria, Va., Mrs.
Irene Batista o f San Francisco, and Mrs. Madeline Wylie of Boulder; also 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Rosary services for Mr. Goglio will be held at the Valenzano home at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday. Requiem high mass will be held at St. Benedict's church, Florence, Thursday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in Union Highland cemetery by the Canon Mortuary.
