Notes for John PARKS
Served with General Dibrell's 25th Inf. and 8th Cavalry during the Civil War. Served 30 years as Court Justice in White Co. One additional child(burial site unknown) is James Parks (first born son) who went to Arkansas and homesteaded land with descendants possibly going on to California. Memorials have been created here in the family cemetery for James and his wife to preserve the family history even though they are buried elsewhere.

There is headstone for a John Pakrs which shows he was a Confederate. While there is a document that a John Parks which is a Union solider’s pension file.

Tennessee, U.S., Civil War Confederate Pension Applications Index there is John Parks in the 8th Calvary TN in White County, TN.. The name Parks, John appears on a Tennesse Confederate Application.
