Mattie J (Finch) Moyers was born on December 15, 1863 in Tennessee, the daughter of James A Finch (1827–1880) and Louisa Elizabeth (Lee) Finch (1827–1880).
She was married on July 26, 1885 in Henry County to Columbus H Moyers (1863-1920), and he was the son of Patrick Dillard "P D" Moyers (1831-1910) and his wife Martha Jane (Campbell) Moyers (1834-1925).
Mattie passed away DURING THE 1st WEEK of December 1918 in Chattanooga and was buried on December 8th in Lone Mountain Cemetery in Graysville. {Mattie's Death Certificate has the DAY of death scribbled over several times, and the TRANSCRIBER listed it - apparently incorrectly - as the 6th. AND, although her cemetery marker has her death on December 9th, her Death Certificate has her BURIED on December 8th.}
