Ruth L. Parriott Johnson, 85, of Freeport, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Stephenson Nursing Center. Born on May 19, 1926 in Freeport, the daughter of Byron and Marguerite (Tempelmayer) Parriott. Mrs. Johnson worked at First National Bank and Midwest Bank. She married Gale Johnson on September 23, 1967 in Rockton. He died in March of 1999. Ruth was a former member of Embury Methodist Church. Survivors include her brother Ray (Mary) Parriott of Orangeville; three nephews, Chad (Carrie) Parriott, Matthew Parriottt and Richard (Lynette) Moore; also two nieces, Margaret (Howard) Ovist and Patricia (Jeff) Robertson. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Marion (Roy) Moore. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Lyle Babcock will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Burial of cremains in Orangeville Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory.
