Annabelle Parlapiano Mistretta, 99, was born February 4, 1913, to the union of Frank and Mary Parlapiano in Pueblo, CO; and went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2012. She is survived by her loving nieces, Mary and Carla Parlapiano. AnnaBelle cherished her special friends, Margo Valente, Cathy Hansen and Irene Garcia. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; siblings, Carl (Nell) Parlapiano, Vivian (Durell) Brannon and Joseph (Doris) Parlapiano; nephew, James Pagano. Anna worked for over 30 years as the secretary for the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra on the Santa Monica Pier. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, watching classic movies and most of all, watching boats with her husband at Marina Del Ray in California. AnnaBelle was very proud of her Italian heritage. She enjoyed cooking Italian dishes for her family and friends. She loved to reminisce about the early years, especially the hardships during the depression. AnnaBelle often spoke of helping her mother can tomatoes. As a child, she had the smallest hands; and therefore, was the lucky one to have to clean all of the tomato jars for canning. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Her beautiful smile brought happiness to all of those that loved her. A special thank you to everyone who touched her life. She will be greatly missed. Viewing, 2-4 p.m., today, at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home. Funeral Mass, 2 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Online condolences at
