Carl Parlapiano Passed away April 17, 2002. He was born in Pueblo, Colo.

Carl was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Mary Parlapiano.

He is survived by wife, Nell; daughters, Mary Margaret and Carla; sisters, Annabelle Mistretta, Vivian Brannon; and brother, Joe (Doris) Parlapiano; nephew, James (Carol) Pagano; aunts, Josephine Cascio and Sara White; and uncle, Tony Taibi. Also survived by cousins, David (Marge) Parlapiano, James (Jodene) Parlapiano, Frank (Lucille) Colletti, Josephine Perricone; sisters-in-law, Lee Pollard, Marie Alberico, Melba Alberico and Pauline Alberico. Numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Vi Marquez and Irene Garcia.

Carl was a graduate of Central High School, He attended the University of Colorado and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received the Juris Doctor Law Degree at Denver University. He returned to Pueblo to practice law for 50 years.

During WWII, Carl served his country in the U.S. Army as a Tec 4 from 1942 to 1945 in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was the recipient of the European/African/Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Service Unit Plaque with one star.

Carl served as Pueblo assistant district attorney and Pueblo district attorney for 16 years. He continued his private practice until he retired in 1996.

Carl was an active member in the Democratic Party and served many years as committee chairman of the Democratic Party Precinct No. 46.

In 1984, he was recognized for 39 years of successful practice of the law by the Pueblo County Bar Association. He was a member of the American Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.

Carl was a life member of the Elk's Fraternal Organization Lodge No. 90 and the Protective Lodge of the Columbian Federation No. 222. Carl was the past president of the International Footprint Association Chapter No. 22.

He was a devoted husband and a proud father of his two loving daughters.

He was an avid Denver Broncos and CU football fan. He loved fishing, traveling, going to the mountains, riding his bicycle and talking politics.

The family requests the omission of food and flowers. Memorials can be made to St. Patrick Church or the American Heart Association in Carl's memory.

Viewing will be held at the funeral home from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 21, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 22. Recitation of the rosary, 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, followed by Mass of the Resurrection at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Entombment at Roselawn Cemetery. Graveside honors by the Pueblo County Sheriffs Department. There will be a reception to follow at the Pueblo Country Club.

Nell (Ernestine Alberico) Parlapiano passed away July 9, 2005.

She was born in Pueblo, Colo., and was preceded in death by husband, Carl; father and mother, Chris and Angelina Alberico; sister, Mary (Anthony) Zaccardi; and son, Ralph; brothers, Fred, Thomas and Charles Alberico.

She is survived by devoted daughters, Mary Margaret and Carla; sister, Lee Pollard; sisters-in-law, Annabelle Mistretta, Vivian Brannon; and brother-in-law, Joe Parlapiano; nephew, James (Carol) Pagano; sisters-in-law, Marie Alberico, Melba Alberico and Pauline Alberico; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Vi Marquez and Irene Garcia.

She and her husband, Carl, were married for 54 years. They were married in 1951 at Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Pueblo, Colo.

Nell was a graduate of Central High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State College of Education, now the University of Northern Colorado. She started her teaching career at Blende Elementary School. She continued her career at Riverside, Jefferson, Washington and Sunset Park Elementary schools. Her teaching career spanned 42 years. After retirement, she continued teaching as a substitute teacher in District 60.

Nell was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Alpha Omicron Chapter and a member of St. Patrick Church.

She was a devoted wife and a proud mother of two loving daughters. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing beautiful roses and other plants. She also enjoyed traveling and attending Denver Broncos football games. She enjoyed sharing special times with friends and family at her home.

A special thank you to Dr. Gaide, Dr. Holm, Rachel, Natalie and Nona for the care given to Nell.

The family requests the omission of food and flowers. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church. Viewing, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with family to receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Rosary, 9:30 a.m. Thursday, and funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2005, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with entombment at Roselawn Cemetery.
