Mrs. J. R. Harrod of St. Augustine, died at the home of her son, Prof. S. G. Harrod yesterday morning, after an illness of several weeks duration. Sarah Cox was born In St. Augustine, October 30, 1845, and her entire life was spent there. On Dec. 11, 1871 she was married to Mr. Harrod and he with the one son, Prof. Harrod survive her. The body was taken to St. Augustine today for internment and the funeral services will be held Saturday.

Samuel studied 4 years at Hedding College in Abingdon. In 1902 he completed his studies for the bachelor of arts degree at Eureka College. He then received his PhD at Princeton University. In 1909 he became Professor of Ancient Languages (Latin and Greek)at Eureka College and in 1936 he became Dean of the college.
