Faye entered into the Peaceable Kingdom on Aug. 28, 2004, at Carillon House in Lubbock, where she had been a resident for 23 years.
Faye was born to Homer and Temmie Higgins in Eldorado, Okla., on Dec. 26, 1914. She married Bill Montgomery on July 1, 1934. They lived on a farm and ranch in Hall, Donley, and Briscoe counties for 39 years. Prior to that, she was a member of First Presbyterian in Clarendon for 41 years and First Presbyterian in Amarillo for six years.

Notes for William Smith “Bill” (Spouse 1)
CLARENDON - William Smith "Bill" Montgomery, 88, died Tuesday, Sept.
17, 2002.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church with
Rick Massick, lay pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens
Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Mr. Montgomery went to be with the Lord on Tuesday. He was born in
Clarendon on Feb. 6, 1914. He grew up in the home that is still
occupied by family. He received his education in the Clarendon
schools.
He continued his education as an apprentice to his father in farming
and ranching. His father, Will, and twin brother, Jim, homesteaded
land in Hall County when they were 18 years of age in 1890. He was
always mindful of his heritage and remained a faithful steward of the
land he farmed and ranched.
He owned and operated independent farming and ranching businesses in
Hall and Briscoe counties. His family continues their connections to
the land. Cattle ranching was his avocation and his hobby. A rare
individual, who truly loved what he did for a profession, he was still
riding his horse at 80 years of age. He never really retired. He was
the last of the true cowboys.
He married Faye R. Higgins on July 1, 1934, in the parlor of First
Presbyterian Church of Memphis. Three children were born to them,
JoAnne Montgomery Moore, William Grady Montgomery and Sherry Noel
Montgomery Semrad. Grady preceded his father in death in 1969.
Mr. Montgomery was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in
Clarendon, where he served as an elder just like his father before
him. His parents were the first couple to marry in the First
Presbyterian Church of Clarendon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Sarah; two
brothers, Paul and Joe; and a sister, Edna Louise Smith.
Survivors include two daughters, JoAnne Moore and husband, James, of
Canyon Lake and Sherry Semrad and husband, James, of Tucson, Ariz.;
five grandchildren, Terri Truitt Griffiths and husband, John, of
Houston, Tanya Truitt Puroff and husband, Chris, of Amarillo, Melissa
Semrad and husband, Marco Vera, of St. Paul, Minn., Matt Semrad and
wife, Shelly Watkins, of Dallas and Michelle Semrad of Los Angeles;
and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Leah Puroff, both of
Amarillo, Katrin Snider and Mateo Vera, both of St. Paul, and Ari
Vaclav Hardarson of Los Angeles.
The family suggests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church of
Clarendon; or BSA Hospice of Amarillo.
The family will be at 7701 Stuyvesant in Amarillo.
On Find A Grave.
