Married 11/18/1853 to Frances Cordelia Bozarth (2/24/1828, died 9/19/1888 of psneumonia).
She is buried on the Bozarth Farm south of Shelbina, MO.
Nicholas was a confederate soldier in the Civil War; rode with Quantrill for a while and was with them at Lawrence, KS, but left them shortly afterward.
CSA. Family legend says he rode with Quantrill & was present at Lawrence, KS, but left the group shortly afterwards. He went to surrender after the war but was shot at so he grew a beard & never did surrender.
Per Death certificate he was buried in East Oakwood Cemetery at Bevier.

No marker. His grave is beside his son, David Monroe Tuttle.

She is buried on the Bozarth Farm south of Shelbina, MO.
