Dinah Cox was born the 4th of 9th mo 1795, the daughter of Joseph and Dinah (Rich) Cox. She married the 22d of 2d mo 1817 at Whitewater Friends Meeting, Wayne County, Indiana, John Hill. By 1840 they arrived in Rush County where they and their children were charter members of Walnut Creek Friends Meeting. She died the 30th of 11th mo 1867. She was the mother of ten children: Joseph, Mary, Martha, Benjamin C., Nathan C., Ervin, Sarah Ann, William R., Miriam Jane, and Mary Ann.

John Hill was born the 20th of 2d mo 1797, a son of Benjamin and Mary Jessup Hill. He married the 22d of 2mo 1817 at the Whitewater Friends Meeting, Wayne Co., IN, Dinah Cox. They lived in Wayne County for a time, then relocated to Rush County where they were charter members of the Walnut Ridge Friends Meeting. John's death occurred the 20th of 10th mo 1846.
