George-- Mrs. Maria George, who has made her home in the Oathout family for a number of years, died at the home of A. M. Oathout, two miles south of Surprise, Tuesday morning, aged 73 years. Her death was caused from a paralytic stroke she suffered Sunday.
She was born in Jackson county in 1844 and had spent her entire life here. She was twice married. Mr. George died several years ago. She leaves no near relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Frakes at the Freetown Christian church Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial in the Freetown cemetery.
