Eugene Grant Cox

Eugene Grant Cox, 80, of 105 Riverview C, retired Anaconda Co. personnel manager, died Sunday in a local hospital.
His funeral with Masonic ritual will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at O'Connor Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

He was born July 12, 1908, in Great Falls, grew up on the family ranch at Craig and attended school in Great Falls. He married Frances E. Puzon in Choteau in Sept. 1933.

Cox began working for the Anaconda Co. in 1926 as an office boy. He worked his way up to personnel manager in 1959 and retired in 1971.

He was elected to Great Falls City Council from the Fifth Ward in 1963 and served on the Park Board. He belonged to the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge and Kiwanis Club. He also had been a pension representative for the Anaconda Co. from 1952 to 1971. He was a current member of the Scottish Rite and Euclid Lodge 58 AF & AM.
His wife died in 1982. Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Jean Sloan of Great Falls and Mrs. Janice Schulz of Vacaville, Calif.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded him in death.

Frances Cox

Frances E. Cox died Tuesday at a local hospital after a short illness. The funeral will be Friday at 11:15 a.m. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery.

Born in Great Falls, she grew up in Great Falls and attended local schools. Frances Puzon and Eugene G. Cox were married in Sept. 1933 at Choteau. The couple made their home in Great Falls where he served as city councilman.
Her husband survives with two daughters, Mrs. Phil (Jean) Sloan, Great Falls, and Mrs. Steve (Janice) Schulz, Vacaville, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Raymond Puzon, Sacramento, Calif., and Matthew Puzon, Yuma, Ariz.; and one sister, Mrs. Bob (Stella) Johnston, Portland, Ore.
