At maturity 5'9" 138 lbs, fair skin, dark blue eyes and black hair. He came forward in April, 1885, joining Gillsburg Baptist Church, Gillsburg, Ms. He was baptized a week later in Cuba Creek, west of Gillsburg. In the fall of 1889 he entered Miss College in Clinton, Ms. In the summer of 1890 he did mission work on the Ms gulf coast. He was ordained at Clinton Baptist Church July 3, 1892. After graduating he entered the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Upon leaving seminary he was called to First Baptist Church, Milan, Tn. There he married to Sophia Hurt of Milan, Tn. She died a year after marriage and he married Fannie Jackson, also of Milan, Tn. on Oct 11,1898.
He served two years at Milan, two years in Erin, Tn, two years in Lexington, Ms, two years in Durant, Ms, three years in Gallman, Ms, three years in Mt. Olive, Ms, one year at Lake Village, Ark, eight years at Monticello, Ark, three years at New Albany, Ms, two years as budget director for the Ark Executive Board, six years at New Augusta, Ark five years at England, Ark, and lastly in Centerville, Ms. He died in Winston-Salem, NC in 1939 while visiting his daughter, Willene and her husband Rev. Ralph Herring.
Dr Tull served on boards of the Southern Baptist Seminary, Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, Arkansas State Hospital, Central College, Blue Mountain College and others.
Dr and Mrs Tull had five children and 10 grandchildren.
