Sarah Hall Pearce Watters, age 91, of Lilburn, GA, passed away Saturday evening, July 6, 2019.
Her Memorial Celebration will be Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 2 pm in the Chapel of Smoke Rise Baptist Church, Stone Mountain, GA, with Pastor Chris George officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm.
Born in Greenwood, MS, daughter of Sidney Hurt Pearce and Mildred Hall Pearce, she graduated from Greenwood High School. Finishing Gulf Park College in Gulfport, MS, in 1947, she then attended the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of the CHI OMEGA Fraternity. She married Sidney Ewell Watters, Jr., on February 19, 1949. A homemaker and member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church, she was a charter member of Philadelphia Winn Chapter NSDAR. She was also a member of UDC, Atlanta 18 Chapter, and the "Real Granddaughters" Club.
Mrs. Watters was predeceased by her husband of sixty-eight years in 2017, and by her sister, Mary Ann Bingham Shaw, in 2011. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney Ewell Watters III and Kitty of Duluth, GA, and Ben Pearce Watters and Carol of Marietta, GA; her four grandchildren, Kathleen Watters Wilson (Candler), Crysten Taylor Watters, Sidney Ewell Watters IV, and Kathryn Jane Watters; her five great grandchildren, Stafford Wilson, Breck Wilson, Tate Wilson, Aria Watters, and Remington Watters.
