Obituary, The Columbia Daily Tribune, April 17, 2000:
Thomas Thurston Cox, 78, of Centralia, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Fenton Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Max Boothby and Ed Varnum officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the funeral home.
Mr. Cox was born April 5, 1922, in Audrain County to Clarence Chrismon and Hattie Jewel Vance Cox.
He married Maudie Mae Kennon on Aug. 15, 1949, in Arkansas and she survives.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a retired farmer and a self-employed union painter.
Other survivors include three daughters, Novella Rae Long of Moberly, Donna Mae Pace of Centralia and Christine Thomas Wainscott of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Chrismon Lee Cox of Centralia; a brother, C. J. Cox of Centralia; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Research Center.
