"Mrs. Walker Dies, Services Set Thursday--Mrs. Myrtle Elvin Walker, 69, died unexpectedly at her home at 240 N. 14th St. Tuesday morning. She had lived in Salem since 1905.
Mrs. Walker was born in Pineville, Mo., on July 5, 1885. She once worked with her brothers in the operation of the J.L. Busick and Sons grocery store here and belonged to Rebekah Lodge and Amaranth Order.
Survivors include son, Glenn Walker, Salem; brothers W.J., A.J. and H.T. Busick, all of Salem, and C.D. Busick, Forest Grove.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the W.T. Rigdon Co. chapel. Interment will be at Lee Mission Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Greene will preside."

"Donald Mayor Is Dead--Newton Walker Passes Away at the Salem Hospital--Newton Walker, mayor of Donald, Or., and secretary-treasurer of the Donald Nursery company, died yesterday morning at the Salem hospital. He was 44 years old.
He is survived by a wife and a five-year-old son. Also surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Walker and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. W.H. Clark of Salem, Mrs. H.N. Goode of Donald, Mrs. E.J. Sperry of Portland, and Dayton Walker.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the chapel of Rigdon & Richardson. Burial will be in Lee Mission cemetery."
