Mary Louis Stockdell
July 7, 1928 - October 3, 2015

Mary Lois Stockdell, age 87, a long-time resident of Abilene, Texas, passed away on October 3, 2015. For the last year and a half, she has been a resident of the Brookdale Senior Living Center, Clare Bridge Alzheimer's and Dementia Unit, in Waxahachie, Texas. Mary was a homemaker and loving mother, as well as a dedicated and active member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Stockdell was born July 7th, 1928, in Denton, Texas, the daughter of Ray and Cordie Anderson of Abilene, Texas. She married the late Victor Bruce Stockdell on June 16, 1945, in Bakersfield, California, where he was stationed with the United States Air Force. During her adult life, Mary moved over 19 times, living all over the U.S. and in the countries of Austria and the Philippines.

Survivors include her six children—Carolyn Stockdell, Abilene, Texas; Richard Stockdell, Dallas, Texas; Daniel Stockdell, Brazil; Beverly Dockens (Jerry), North Las Vegas, Nevada; Linda Patrick (Mark), Nashville, Tennessee; and Tom Stockdell (Cecelia), Waxahachie, Texas.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years, and her sister, Betty Yarrington, of San Diego, California.

A memorial service will be held at the Hillcrest Church of Christ chapel, 650 Ambler, Abilene, Texas, on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 2pm. Flowers can be sent to Elmwood Funeral Home, Abilene, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, a tax deductible donation can be made in her name to the Christian Service Center Abilene (cscabilene.org).
