TENCY S. RYAN

Tency S. Ryan, 91, late of Waldport, died at Yaquina Care Center in Newport, Jan. 23, 1979.

Born in Rock Creek, Minn., July 2, 1887, she had been a resident of Waldport for the past 63 years, and had come to Oregon from Minnesota 86 years ago.

She is survived by her widower, Chester, to whom she was married in Waldport Dec. 31, 1918; a daughter, Elsie Cornwell of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Bateman Funeral Home in Waldport. Interment followed in the Eureka Cemetery in Newport.

CHESTER LEE "CHUB" RYAN

Chester Lee "Chub" Ryan, 85, late of Banks, died at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, Tuesday, June 9, 1981.

Born in Ona, Lincoln County, April 19, 1896, he had been a resident of the Waldport area all his life, moving to Banks six months ago.

He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Army and before his retirement three years ago, he was a commercial fisherman and fur trapper by occupation. His wife, Tency Ryan, preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 1979. They were married in Waldport Dec. 31, 1918.

Survivors are a daughter, Elsie Cornwell and son-in-law Russell Cornwell of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Patricia Lowe of Newport, Sheryl Evans of Alameda, Calif., and Terri Garrison of Aloha; and three great-granddaughters.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday, June 12, at the Eureka Cemetery in Newport, under the direction of Bateman Funeral Homes.
