Virginia Tuck Johnson, 76, of 11532 Osprey Landing Way, Ft. Myers, Fla. and formerly of Bluefield, W.Va. and Smith Mountain Lake, Va., died Sunday, August 29, 1999 in a Bluefield hospital. Born July 8, 1923 in Eggleston, Va. she was a daughter of the late Dr. Seab A. Tuck and Estelle Still Tuck.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and the Bethany Circle. She was a graduate of the Lewis Gale School of Nursing in Roanoke, Va.

She is survived by her husband J. J. Johnson; a daughter, Joyce Timberlake and her husband, Otis of Buchanan, Va.; two sons, Marquis A. Johnson and his wife, Susan of Bluefield, Va. and David Joseph Johnson and his wife, Julie of Mechanicsville, Va. She is also survived by two sisters, Marguerite Tuck Anderson of Durand, Wis. and Carolyn Boone Benfield of Statesville, N.C.; a brother, Seab Arnold Tuck, Jr. and his wife, Louise of Crossville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, James Joseph Johnson II, Kristen Nicole Timberlake, Jeffrey Marquis Johnson, Kathrine Leigh Johnson and two great-grandchildren, Caroline Elizabeth Johnson and Leslie Kyle Englehart.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 31, 1999 at 10 a.m. from the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Bluefield, W.Va. with the Rev. C. Michael Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Va. Pallbearers will be Glen Boone, Gary Boone, Walter L. Sowers, Richard L. Sowers, Jay Johnson, Jeff Johnson. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the First Christian Church memorial fund 2200 Bland Road, Bluefield, W.Va. The family may be reached at the home of Marquis and Susan Johnson, 4 Fairlane Dr., Bluefield, Va. Arrangements by Mercer Funeral Home, Bluefield, W.Va.
