Newkirk—Mrs. Carrie B. Newkirk, of Crothersville. passed away at the Schneck hospital in Seymour Monday morning at 6:45 o'clock. age 63 years. She had been sick for several years and was taken to the hospital several days ago.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Braxton Stockdell and was born in Jackson county December 25, 1869. She was married at Tampico to Chas. Newkirk December 25, 1897. She was well liked by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held at the Tampico Baptist church, of which she was a member, this morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. Walter Moseley in charge. Burial in the Russell Chapel cemetery.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, James Robert Newkirk, of Fort Wayne, one brother, C. D. Stockdell, of McNabb, Illinois, and one sister, Mrs. Jeanette Meeks, of Crothersville.
