Merle L. Davis
Merle L. Davis, 76, of 4104 Ocean Beach Highway, Longview, died June 22, 1991, at St. John's Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 31, 1914, in Cherryville, Kan., the son of Fred and Daisy (Carter) Davis, and had lived in the local area since 1948, coming from Kansas.
Mr. Davis retired from Longview Fibre Co. as a jitney driver after 28 years'service.
He was a member of the Longview Elks, where he worked on the hide project. He also liked to garden.
Survivors include his wife, Londeen Davis, at home; two daughters, Wanda Rudy and Linda Roseberry, both of Skamokawa; three sisters, Pearl Scott in California and Opal Bennett and Etta Wright, both of Longview; a brother, Don Davis of Cherry ville; and five grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park with the Rev. Phil Peters officiating.
Friends may pay respects from noon to 5 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born June 21, 1919 in Montgomery County, Kansas. died June 4th, 2012 in the state of Washington,
married to Merle L. Davis July 11, 1938, in Green County Missouri, Londene was the eldest daughter of Royal and Gertrude Ryan, they had two daughters, Wanda Jo and Linda Carol, They made their home in the state of Washington for all there married years.
