Notes for Jeremiah MYERS
Jeremiah Myers married Mahala Brown in Greene Co., TN 4 Jan 1832. I don't have a death date for Mahala , and can not find her, or the family, on the 1860 census. She is probably buried at the Holder cemetery with Jeremiah, her brother David A Brown memorial #18344571 is buried there.
After almost 30 years of research on the Holder, Moyers, Myers family lines of Jefferson Co., Tn, and Ray Co., MO, I need to fill in puzzle pieces of Jeremiah Myers that I have found.
Jeremiah Myers, and William Myers was the sons of William B Moyers, and Charlotte Smith. They lived near White Pine in Jefferson County, Tennessee. The father William B Moyers was part of Andrew Jacksons 1814 march to New Orleans. He, and two of his cousins, William Riley Pankey, and Stephen Pankey died from injuries in the 1814 Battle of Horseshoe Bend, aka: Battle of Red Sticks. His widow, Charlotte remarried William Presley Holder 29 Aug 1816 at Greenville, Greene Co., TN. Some time before the 1840 census Jeremiah moved to Ray Co., MO from Tennessee. After the death of William Presley Holder in 1830, Charlotte, and most of her children followed Jeremiah to Ray county in 1842. They came to Ray County Missouri by river boat. My educated guess is that Jeremiah Myers is buried near his mother, and brother William in the Holder Cemetery
