Obituary
Bruce Eric Rector was born on May 4, 1959, in Nevada, Missouri. Mr. Rector transitioned to his eternal home in heaven with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Leon Rector and Wanda Marie Fitchpatrick Rector.
Mr. Rector graduated from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri. He went to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Mr. Rector served the Lord on church staff in the following states: Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Also, he served as a college minister in Fairbanks, Alaska, and Morgantown, West Virginia.
Mr. Rector is survived by his wife, Cheryl Anderson Rector of Dublin, Georgia; his brother, Phillip Rector (Gail) of Kimberling City; sisters-in-law, Marsha Tredway (Larry) of Fulshear, Texas, and Emily Hatcher (Ed) of Edgefield, South Carolina; nephew, Jon Rector (Michal) and their children, Noa, Naomi, Abigail, and Eleanor; nephew, John Hatcher (Aly) and their children, Hadley Mae and Holley Nicole; nephew, Josh Hatcher; niece, Lacey Rector; niece, Stephanie Henderson (Aaron); niece, Jaimey Hatcher-Rodgers and her children, Callie Rodgers, Christopher Rodgers, and Carson Rodgers; niece, Caitlin Holcomb (Austin); and other relatives of Mr. Rector live in Missouri.
A funeral service will be held for Mr. Rector on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with burial to take place at Sand Hill Cemetery in Varnville, South Carolina on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 10:30 AM. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Dr. Dean Anderson (Tennessee) and Dr. Darrell Paulk (Dublin), will officiate the service.
