ROWLAND BEVANS, captain of the ship "Desire," which arrived in Boston, Massachusetts on 9 May 1667. Rowland Bevans sold his land in Boston to Thomas Clark before 16 May 1662. Rowland Bevan of Boston, New England, mariner, was aged 26 in court proceedings of 3 February 1650/1 regarding the ship "Diligence" of Boston. Rowland Bevans was first married 27 December 1670 in Somerset County, Maryland to Margaret Price, and then was married by clerk Robert Maddox on 4 August 1672 there to Mary Bewry.
