Of Somerset County, Maryland, born about 1705; died about March 30, 1770 in Kent County Delaware. He was married to Sarah Beavens daughter of Rowland Beavens(See Beavens Family History later in this book) and (first name unknown) Kirk . Samuel lived on Turners Choice which his father Samuel Turner had given his brother John Turner. John sold Turners Choice on January 5, 1736, but Samuel had left the property before the tax was taken in 1735. Only John shows up in the 1735 tax tables at Turners Choice.

The following is a transcript of the Will of Samuel Turner as seen in the Delaware Archives in Dover Vol. 51 page 178:

"In the name of God amen I Samuel Turner of Kent County being weak in body but in perfect mind and memory thanks both all mighty God for the same and Calling to mind the mortality of my body and known that it appointed for man once to dy (sic) do and hereby make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give Recommend my soul to God that gave it me and for my body I Recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent manor at the discretion of my executor nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty power of God as touching such of land wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this Life I give bequeath and dispose of the same in the following manor and form. First of all imprimis I give and Bequeath unto my well Beloved Samuel Bevans Turner and to my Daughter Joyce and my Daughter Loar (Lear or Leah) and to my son Henry Turner and my son Jehu Turner one shilling sterling to each of them to be paid by me executors after by decease.

Item I Loan give and Bequeath unto my son Elisa Turner the whole and sole advantage and benefit of a deed of sail past to me from Andrew Calwell to him and his heirs. Last of all I give unto my well Beloved wife Sarah Turner all the Rest of my estate of all my money that I am possessed with.

Last of all Constitute and appoint my well Beloved wife whole and sole executors of this my Last will and testament Revoking and disannulling all other will by me maid Ratifying and Confirming this to be my Last will and Testament and in witness hereto an hereunto set and seal this Twenty first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred sixty and nine. "

Jeremiah Morris and Jeremiah Morris Junior, two of the witnesses to the within will of Samuel Turner Dec'd, and being Severally Sworn on the Holy Evangelist of almighty God. did Declare that they Saw and heard the Said Samuel Turner Sign, Seal Publish Pronounce and Declare the within Instrument of writing (are) and for his Last will and Testament that at the time of (Doing) and Saying he was to the Best of their belief of Sound and Disposing mind and memory. that they Signed their Names as witnesses thereto at his instance and Request and in his Presence and at the same time Saw Serfener Murphy Sign her Name thereunto as (the) other witness at the like instance and Request and in his Presence. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand this 30th day of March 1770" (Cafar)
