Mary Jane Blair was born on March 14, 1721, in Ireland, her father, John, was 20, and her mother, Martha, was 3. She married John Cummings in 1740 in Bladen, North Carolina. They had nine children in 41 years. She died having lived for more than 100 years. She died on April 21, 1839, in Rutherford, Tennessee, at the age of 118, and was buried there.
